Blair Boylan
Blair, a native of East Grand Rapids, Michigan, played attack for the MSOE Raiders where he was a captain of the team. Blair currently play's for the Mad Cow men's team and Hot4Lax league teams. Blair is US Lacrosse Level 1 certified as a coach and has served as an assistant coach for the Northshore high school club team.This summer he coached the Milwaukee Select U19 team. He coaches fall ball and indoor lacrosse with Hot4Lax, strings sticks and manages the Hot4Lax Equipment room for rental and new gear.
Samantha Adey
A native of Philadelphia, Sam played at Germantown Academy before going on to play NCAA Division 1 lacrosse at Lehigh University where in 2000 she earned the Athlete of the Year honor. Upon graduation Sam first coached at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, MD and played post-collegiate club lacrosse in both Baltimore and Philadelphia for 6 years. In 2008 Sam moved from Philadelphia to Milwaukee and started coaching the University School of Milwaukee girls' high school team in 2009. She is currently still at USM while also coaching the Milwaukee Select team and attending graduate school at Marquette University.
Sam is US Lacrosse Level 1, PCA, and CPR/AED certified. She is active within the Milwaukee Area Youth Lacrosse Association (MAYLA) and currently serves at the Director of Women's Post Collegiate Lacrosse on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation (WLF) and in addition, serves as the Secretary of the WLF's Executive Committee.
Sidney Jones
A native of upstate New York Sid played college lacrosse in Rochester, New York and at University of Minnesota. He has also played post-college lacrosse for the Minnesota Chill, Minnesota Lakers and the Chicago Machine. Coaching the Marquette University lacrosse team for four years and serving as assitant coach for the MSOE Raiders college lacrosse team for two, Sid will take the helm at St. Johns Northwest Military Academy in spring 2010. This past summer Sid steared the Milwaukee Select U18 high school team to a 28-1 record and headed to the NDP Tournament of Champions in January 2010.
Jake Sweitzer
Jake is a graduate of Arrowhead High School and was on the initial Milwaukee Select team. Jake currently plays goalie for the UW-Madison men's team. He has been working with Hot4Lax as an indoor coach for years and will be coaching the Milwaukee Select team again this summer.
Robin Buckley
Robin has been involved in the growth of lacrosse in the Milwaukee area since he moved here in 1997. One of the founding members of the Milwaukee Lacrosse Club, Milwaukee Area Youth Lacrosse Association and the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation-Wisconsin Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse, Robin's goal is to help grow the nation's oldest sport throughout the greater Milwaukee area and Southeastern Wisconsin. Robin has been playing lacrosse since 1982 when he made the transition to lacrosse attending school in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He played three years of high school lacrosse and was a four-year starter at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. Since graduating in 1989, Robin has been involved playing club lacrosse and coaching at all levels. Through his twenty-two years experience coaching youth, high school and college lacrosse, Robin invokes a solid fundamental approach to the game of lacrosse, an understanding of the history of the game and a positive experience to all the players.
"Stick skills are the key to a good lacrosse player. They should be worked on outside of practice, so you can work all the other parts of the game during practice."
Robin serves as the past-president of the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation, Executive Director of MAYLA and the Area Chairman of the US Lacrosse Men's Division Coaches Council. He has coached at the University School of Milwaukee and is currently coaching the Milwaukee School of Engineering(MSOE) Lacrosse team in their inaugural year of NCAA Division III competition. Robin was recognized at the US Lacrosse Youth Awards breakfast on January 16, 2010 for his contribution to the growth of the game. "Excellence in Growing the Game" is a National award presented annually at the US Lacrosse Convention to that individual who has significantly contributed to the growth of the game at all levels.
Tip Kress
Tip was one of the founding members of the Marquette University High School lacrosse team. Tip has played college lacrosse at Loyola University in Chicago and continues to play men's club lacrosse with the Mad Cow Lacrosse team. Tip coaches the Marquette JV lacrosse program and helps with Hot4Lax for camps and clinics.
Tom Gebhard
Tom joins the Hot4Lax staff again this summer coaching the U18 Milwaukee Select team. He will also be coaching at the summer camps and sharing his knowledge custom stringing sticks. Tom played high school lacrosse at University Shool of Milwaukee where he was the captain and starting attackmen. He played midfield at Kenyon College in Ohio. Tom will be traveling to England to teach lacrosse for a year. We wish Tom the best in his adventure abroad.
Coaching Opportunities
There are a number of coaching needs at the high school and youth level. Coaches are required to complete the Level One online course through US Lacrosse attend a Postive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Coach workshop and become certified as a lacrosse coach. Referee Opportunities
- Referees needed for spring outdoor lacrosse.
Referee Training Clinics for certification will be conducted in late January 2010 by Sid Flanders, Wisconsin State Director of Lacrosse Referee's. There will be opportunities for training in men's and women's lacrosse rules. Referee's needed for youth, high school and adult games.
